Archon James Flynn Appointed Grand Marshal for the 38th Annual
MLK Dream Big Parade in St. Petersburg, FL
Gamma Omicron Attorney James Flynn,Jr. also known as “Your Southside Lawyer,” was
appointed as the Grand Marshal for the 38th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. This
is the longest running Martin Luther King Jr parade, commemorating the life and legacy of
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and occurred on Monday, January 15th.
Archon Flynn expressed his honor in being selected for this role, stating, “This event is near
and dear to my heart. It’s a wonderful tradition to have this family fun day in honor of Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. and I’m privileged to serve as the Grand Marshal of the parade.”
The community is encouraged to join in the celebration, as the parade reflects on the past
and strives for progress in the future.
Dozens of bands, floats, car clubs, and marching units from area agencies participated in
the event. The parade route followed 1st Avenue South from east to west, turns left on
16th Street, and concluded at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
Archon James E. Flynn, Jr. is the founding Partner of The Flynn Law Firm, P.A., and practices
litigation of civil matters in the areas of automobile accidents, wrongful death and personal
injury. He used to represent insurance companies with a nationally recognized law firm and
now serves the State of Florida.

It is with pride and reverence, Gamma Omicron shares the news on Archon Dwayne Allen.
Archon Allen has had an amazing career in the IT World, where he currently leads Unisys’s
technology Strategy and Vision as their CTO (Chief Technology Officer). Archon Allen is also a
Corporate Board of Director for a Cross Country Healthcare, a publicly traded company.
Archon Allen was recently recognized by Board Prospects, a leading Board Recruitment and
Assessment firm, in their Featured Members communications and as one of 100 Black Board
Directors making a difference at the event in New York City to celebrate the honorees.
Archon Allen serves as a member of the board of Cross Country Healthcare, a market-leading
tech-enabled healthcare workforce solutions and advisory firm that provides strategic workforce
solutions, contingent staffing, permanent placement, and other consultative services helping
healthcare clients.
Roughly 10% of all publicly traded companies Corporate Boards are made up of African
Americans. Gamma Omicron are fortunate to have a few in this distinguished group.

Cecil Howard,
GAMMA OMICRON ARCHON NAME INTERIM DEAN , FAMU SCHOOL OF LAW
Archon Cecil Howard, J.D., is now serving as Associate Provost for Academic Programs and was recently named Interim Dean of the College of Law at Florida A&M University. Howard plays a key role in strategic planning, management, and oversight of diverse academic initiatives for the college.
He also works closely with the college’s faculty and staff to enhance the overall academic experience for law students. This includes oversight of faculty affairs in teaching, research and service, and the management of
targeted bar passage rates and accreditation activities at the academic program and institutional level.
His three primary objectives are to enhance bar preparation and curriculum alignment for FAMU College of Law students, ensure aligned and successful accreditation and operational oversight, and implement comprehensive strategies and initiatives to foster a supportive and conducive environment for
teaching, research, and administrative excellence.
"I am extremely proud to be associated with our fine law school, and I am willing to work as hard as possible to make it the shining example of legal education in the country" said Howard.
Howard is also the principal of CEH Consulting, a firm that provides recruitment and leadership services to universities, nonprofits, and corporations throughout the country.
He has served as chief legal counsel for the Florida Commission on Human Relations and as equal opportunity director for the City of Gainesville, Florida. Howard currently serves on several boards including the Board of Directors for Collegiate Bridge, Inc., a nonprofit that aims to increase retention,
graduation rates, and economic self-sufficiency of Black students.
He earned his juris doctorate from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University and has a bachelor’s degree in government from Florida State University.
